Our recipes have been passed down through generations, blending the spices of our ancestors in Angola and the traditional charcoal techniques from Portugal. Opened in 1992, in the heart of the Portuguese capital of Sydney (Petersham), the Fernandes family continue to own and operate their restaurants with the same pride and passion for food.

Our Portuguese Chicken Burger has featured in Sydney’s top 10 best burgers and our Charcoal chicken is a regular feature in the SMH good food guide, Daily Telegraph and food Safari but that’s not what makes us so special, it’s our dedication to great food.


Our Chicken’s sticky, salty skin and succulent meat will have you addicted to what we believe is utter contentment.

Our Original Portuguese Burger with a generous squeeze of our secret recipe Piri Piri Chilli sauce and mayonnaise, comes on a specially baked soft white bun with a marinated chicken breast fillet (opt for a double if you dare), shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato and cheese. The burger is amazing on its own, but it’s the Chilli sauce’s lemon, garlic tang and heat that will leave you wanting more!

Chips! Well salted, Plain or Chicken Salt, either way they’re delicious. We offer four varieties, shoestring, hand sliced, or cubed potato’s two ways, garlic or plain.

Barbecue pork belly loaded with ”crunch” and amazing smoky flavours, pan-seared octopus in a bubbling hot clay pot. We also offer a range of other delicious starters such as grilled Portuguese Chorizo, Sevilina and Garlic Prawns.

Our menu also includes Espetada skewered meats (Lamb, Beef, Pork and Chicken) all marinated in our special sauces and bastings, cooked to order!

Salads are seasonal, made fresh daily in store, there’s lots of variety and taste delicious. We also offer a range of Salads from the kitchen made to order.

Desserts if you can fit them in include, Crème Caramel, Portuguese Tarts, Crème Brule and our Famous Grandmas Delight!

We offer takeaway or dine in options in all our locations, however please note that store menus might differ slightly.



Our seasonings, marinades and sauces have been passed down for generations, and remain a Fernandes family secret. What makes our food so special is our secret blend Piri Piri Chilli sauce, whether it is enjoyed slathered all over your chicken, a generous squeeze on your burger or as a dip for your fries, it’s absolutely mouth watering and very addictive.
